I had a mixed experience at the Penang Hotel. While the pool area is fantastic with a great size and plenty of loungers, the overall hotel ambiance felt a bit cold and unwelcoming. The rooms could use some warmth, as the access via external concrete walkways and the dull interiors gave it a concrete jungle vibe. However, the spa treatments and the proximity to the beach and shops definitely add to its appeal.
